The folks at The Pig let FCN inside their kitchen. They've been barbecuing since 1956.
One of the top 10 restaurants in the nation is Captain's BBQ in Palm Coast.
It's drive-through only, but if you get the chance to walk inside Jerome Brown barbecue, you'll notice there isn't enough space for seats.
"We've been in business 20 years," Brown said.
FCN asked owner, Jerome Brown what makes his barbecue so special in Jacksonville.
"For one thing, we cook it without any seasoning and the seasoning is in the sauce," he explained.
That sauce that's made him well-known. You can buy it in Sam's Club, with other stores expected soon.
"It's all in the sauce," Brown said.
On Trip Advisor's new top 10 list of states with best barbeque, Florida came in 7th place. Who's number one?
That doesn't bother Brown.
"In Florida, barbecue has come a long way," he said.
Brown estimates the barbecue business brings in millions of dollars to the economy and remains consistent in recent years.
FCN asked Brown what the secret to really good Florida barbecue is.
"If it's tender, and it's got to be cooked just right. It can't fall off the bone. It's got to be melt-in-your-mouth," he said.
That is something Florida and Georgia can be proud of.
