Police have not identified a suspect in the shooting.


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was found with a gunshot wound behind a Northside apartment complex Thursday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired at 9:44 p.m. in the Kendall Court Apartments in the 10500 block of Lem Turner Road, according to JSO Sgt. R.C. Messersmith.

Witnesses reported hearing two shots fired. When police responded an unidentified man was found with a gunshot wound behind one of the apartment buildings. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported the victim to UF Health Jacksonville where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.
