JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Multiple suspects are in custody after an overnight carjacking near the San Marco neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to reports of an armed carjacking in the 2200 block of Wooddale Street just after midnight Saturday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

After police issued an alert, the victim's vehicle was spotted at the intersection of University Boulevard and Philips Highway, police said. The suspects took off on foot, but were later captured and arrested by police and troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol.

Right now, the suspects are in custody. It's not yet clear what charges they'll face.
