omar santiago, state attorney's office, nightclub shooting, puerto rico

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 28-year-old man who prosecutors say tried to cover his tracks after a deadly shooting will spend the rest of his life -- and then some -- in prison.

Omar Santiago was sentenced to life for the murder of 26-year-old Jean Justo.

Prosecutors say Santiago shot Justo twice in the chest during an argument at a Jacksonville nightclub back in 2009.

He was captured in Puerto Rico a year later.

Santiago was sentenced to another thirty years in prison after prosecutors say he tried to hire a hit man to murder an eye witness to that shooting.
