JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man pleaded guilty this week to first-degree murder for killing his mother and stepfather in 2007.
Ted Taylor, 45, stabbed Dennis and Sandra Biggins to death in their Camshire Drive home in the Argyle neighborhood more than seven years ago, according to a release from the State Attorney's Office.
The investigation revealed that Taylor was living with the victims. At the time of the crime, he was on parole from an attempted murder in Texas.Taylor fled the state after the stabbing but was arrested in Texas.
Initially, Taylor was found incompetent to stand trial and committed to a mental hospital, but after two years treatment a judge found him competent.
Taylor was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
