GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- Glynn County Police won't have to go far to find the suspect wanted in connection with the murder of Amber Whited -- he is already in jail facing murder charges in a separate investigation.
Police have not yet confirmed that the body found Sundayis that of Whited, but GCPD Chief Matt Doeringbelieves it is.
Doering expects murder charges will be filed on Raymond Michael Brasiel, 20, in connection with the death of Amber Whited.
Brasiel's new charges will likely be added to the charges filed last week stemming from a double stabbing that left one person dead on Friday.
Originally Brasiel was believed to be a "a person of interest" in the disappearance of Whited.
Doering said officers were investigating the case of the missing mother by talking to relatives of Brasiel. While in the area, officers noticed a pathway leading to a wooded area.
While exploring the pathway, officers discovered a body they believe to be Whited's.
Doering said he believes the body has been at that location since Tuesday July 16, the day Whited was first reported missing.
Police believe Brasiel dumped Whited's body in the woods.
Doering did not reveal the cause of death.
Brasiel is being held in the Glynn County detention center.
