JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville University is set to become the first partner school for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. The group and the university are scheduled to sign a formal agreement Friday morning at the school's administration building.
As part of the agreement, Jacksonville University will provide a 40 percent undergraduate tuition reduction per academic year for children of deceased veterans who meet the school's admissions requirements and have been accepted for enrollment. A news release says prospective students should have minimum incoming grade point average of at least 3.3, while maintaining a semester GPA of at least 3.0 to remain in the program.
The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is a non-profit based in Jacksonville Beach that provides college scholarships and educational counseling to surviving military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.
