PONTE VEDRA, Fla., -- A distressed 27' boat is heading back to shore after taking on water 30 miles off the coast of Ponte Vedra.

The 3 persons aboard do not appear to be injured, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

A helicopter dropped a rubber life boat as a precaution, while a 45' Coast Guard vessel heads to the scene.

A Coast Guard spokesperson reports the boat will head to shore under its own power.
