JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Dozens of families spent Memorial Day at Lonnie Miller Park. That was where Councilman Reggie Brown held his 2nd annual Family Flashback Festival.

Councilman partnered with area businesses and organizations for the event. He said working together to pull off the festival tells criminals in the area they are outnumbered, and people who call the area home are ready to take their neighborhood back.

"We want to show the community that there are more good guys than bad," he said. "If we can bring the folks out and show the community we can come together without violence and without drugs, I think it'll create a ripple effect in the community."

People at the festival agree. They say continuing to have family events like this is another important step for safer streets.
