JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Thursday marks one year since JT Townsend passed away.

The remarkable young man suffered a football injury in high school that left him paralyzed, but he used that experience to begin the JT Townsend Foundation to help others with disabilities.

In three years, the foundation has helped over 120 families by giving them things insurance doesn't cover. For example, the Prausa family was in need of an adult stroller to help get their 15-year-old son Sev out and about. It cost around $1,000 and the JT Townsend Foundation generously donated it.
