JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Friends and family of two brothers killed last year held a car wash Saturday. Their goal was to raise enough money to buy two headstones.
24-year-old Mathew Bohannon and 19-year-old Andrew were killed at Golden Corral on Normandy Boulevard a year ago Monday.
Their mother Stephanie Bohannon says they were set up during a marijuana transaction. Both were shot in the head. "Killed them both," she said, crying. "And I didn't even get to say goodbye."
Bohannan says the recent spike in violence in Jacksonville stirs up bad memories. "Every day it's more and more kids being killed -- senselessly."
The group held a car wash Sunday as well, trying to raise $1500 for each headstone. They also set up a gofundme account in memory of the Bohannon brothers.
