UNION COUNTY, Fla. -- The sheriff of Union County, Brad Whitehead, led the charge uniting sheriffs from bordering counties to put teeth in "Zero Tolerance."
Outside of Worthington Springs, which borders Alachua County, one of 23 "Zero Drug Tolerance" signs went up showing there are no borders to fighting drugs.
"We are just letting [drug dealers] know we've made a strong stance with our local sheriffs," said Whitehead after placing a sign near the bridge of the Santa Fa River.
Neighboring Sheriff Gordon Smith from Bradford County agrees that sharing resources and information is key to battling illegal drugs.
"Criminals don't have boundaries, why do we put boundaries on law enforcement officers?" said Smith.
In Bradford County, an ongoing operation called "Operation Crack Down" was wrapping up with 44 arrest warrants issued. The sheriff says this operation focused on going after suppliers of illegal drugs.
