There is a recall underway that could pose a risk to parents and babies.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says 800,000 Summer Infant video monitors are under recall. The rechargeable battery on the handheld baby monitor can overheat and rupture, posing a burn hazard.

The recall applies to more than a dozen models made by Summer Infant.

So far, there have been 22 reports of overheated and ruptured batteries, as well as smoke and minor property damage.

The units under recall were sold between 2010 and 2012 by several retailers, including Walmart, Target, Babies "R" Us and Amazon.
