PASADENA, Calif. -- "Famous" Jameis Winston may be more famous than ever after tonight.

The spectacular freshman led the Florida State Seminoles to a BCS Championship game win over the Auburn Tigers, 34-31, on Monday night.

The final touchdown pass to Kelvin Benjamin came with 13 seconds left on the clock.

This time there was no miracle finish for the "Team of Destiny". A last ditch lateral effort fizzled out and gave FSU the win.

Auburn looked like it would run away with the game after it jumped out to a 21-3 lead with around 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, but a resilient FSU team led by Winston scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to win its first title since 1999.

Winston finished with 237 yards passing on 20/35 attempts, 2 TDs and 0 interceptions.


The two best teams in college football are on the field at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California Monday night to play in the BCS Championship Game.

Florida State University holds the No. 1 spot in the BCS rankings while Auburn University claims the No. 2 spot.
